Lottery Funding
Ponthafren has received funding form the People and Places programme Big Lottery Fund Wales. This will significantly extend the current services for people with mental health issues in North Powys. Welshpool Outreach
Welshpool outreach opened its doors in September 2009 to
people in the area who experience mental health issues, social
isolation or exclusion. The drop in facilities is open to all and
offers a place to relax and have a chance to take part in a wide range
of workshops, activities and courses.
Suggestions for other activities welcome.
Information/in-house support is available. Volunteers can also
signpost people to other organisations and specialist support services
if necessary.
Open Day
A very successful event attracted lots of visitors including many of Welshpool's dignatories. On offer were many different items for sale including cakes, organic vegetables grown by members in the community garden; hand and foot masages; wool weaving and much more.

Community Garden
A joint venture between Ponthafren Welspool Outreach, North Montgomeryshire Volunteer Bureau, Phoenix House, Gwalia Housing and A4E is a community garden project. Thanks to the owners of Glansevern Hall who have given the group the use of a garden plot. It is a wonderful opportunity for members to get our and enjoy some fresh air in beautiful surroundings.
