A message from our Director Claire Cartwright

In these very uncertain times I want to begin by saying we hope that you and your loved ones are keeping safe and well.

We have been overwhelmed by the many warm wishes you have sent us since we had to close our doors on the 19th March. It’s wonderful to hear how important Ponthafren is to you!

We’re sorry that we are unable to offer you our usual programme of professional services and activities but we have adapted and are able to provide:

  • The telephone lines are open from 10am-4.30pm Monday to Friday.
  • Staff members can contact Ponthafren members at least once a week.
  • All our face to face services take place by telephone or skype including our 121 and counselling services.
  • Ponthafren counsellors have provided videos to help us cope in these unsettling times.
  • We keep our Facebook, website and all other social media platforms up to date with information, official guidance and some fun ideas to help you look after your well-being during these unsettling times.
  • Our volunteers support workers (VSW) and our volunteers are cascading information and guidance; ensuring that those who don’t use social media have access to correct information.

Plus:

  • Ponthafren is a lead partner in the COVID19 Newtown response network and is coordinating the support to those in the community who request help whether practical or emotional.
  • Ponthafren staff are responding to calls on the COVID19 Newtown dedicated phone line 10am-5pm daily on 0333 996 1124.

We are working hard behind the scenes to ensure that when we are able to open the doors we reopen with a vibrant and exciting programme of activities along with the professional services that are so crucial for so many.

I can’t thank you enough for your continued support and we look forward to welcoming you through our doors in the near future!
