Ponthafren and Welshpool Rugby Club are marking one year since launching the Walk and Talk Walking Rugby group.

The initiative has succeeded in using Rugby to bring people of all ages together in the town. The sessions attract an broad range of people from all over the area and of all ability levels.

Walk and Talk Walking Rugby was created by Ponthafren and Welshpool Rugby Club in association, and will celebrate its birthday with an open taster session this Thursday for anyone that fancies giving it a go.

“Walking rugby is a non-contact, walking version of rugby, played and enjoyed by all ages, all genders, and all abilities. You can play for as long or as little as you are able to; if you want to stop and have a chat, feel free. We look forward to meeting you and hope you enjoy it! The club will be open afterwards if you fancy some refreshments and a friendly chat.” - Huw Williams, Rugby & Community Wellbeing Officer.

Thursday's open taster session will run from 6pm-7pm in front of Welshpool rugby clubhouse and if you are interested, email [email protected], or get in touch with Huw on 07508709346. You can also visit www.facebook.com/WalkTalkRugbyWelshpool.
