Peter, a tax professional by training and a former university lecturer in mathematics also has degrees in management, economics and financial management, as well as a professional certificate in financial and management accounting. These qualifications, coupled with an investigative, analytical approach and years of experience in reviewing businesses in a regulatory capacity, mean that Peter brings a clarity of view and a broad range of skills to the trustee table - as well as strong local links developed through past roles as a partner in a nearby tourism business (Cwmbiga Farm); an investment manager for Robert Owen Community Banking; a non-executive director of Mid-Wales Housing Association; and as a renewable energy consultant.

As well as being Ponthafren’s treasurer, Peter is currently a non-executive director (and audit committee chair) of a national regulator and director of a community interest company.
