Ponthafren Associations patron is the RT Revd DR Rowan Williams, now Lord Williams of Oystermouth and former Archbishop of Canterbury.

Born in Swansea, Dr Williams (as he prefers to be known) served as Bishops of Monmouth and Archbishop of Wales prior to being appointed prior to being appointed Archbishop of Canterbury: a post held until 2012.

When accepting his role, Dr Williams said that:

"The health of any any community is bound up with how it regards and relates to its most vulnerable members; and in this sense Ponthafren is doing something not just for a vulnerable group but for the well-being of everyone. Given the disturbing inequalities and injustices that affect people with mental health challenges - not least in rural areas - it is vital to have groups like this, and i feel very privileged to be associate with it".

Ponthafren Association is very proud to have such a prominent Welsh personage Dr Williams as our Patron.
